New Year Resolution

Recently I picked up a cricket bat after almost a decade and except for a few creaking bones in the body, I did alright...The experience took me back to my childhood when I used to play very often and was rather good at the sport...Seniors felt that I was talented and naturally gifted and expected me to do well, however, I didnt play beyond the school and club level...

"Gifted and Naturally Talented" a feedback I often recieved from a lot of people who came in my contact...And I guess they were not being just nice to me...

I indeed was a quick learner and a natural, be it academics, painting, music, writing, poetry, photography etc etc...and everybody including me believed that I can do well in any of these fields but interestingly I didnt...

I believe that most of us have unique talents but somehow do not fulfill the early promise...Very few among us do justice to what Mother Nature gifts them with...

When I look back at my life, I feel the one thing that really stopped me from fulfilling my talent or my dreams is my lack of discipline...I always start with a lotta gusto but then...due to lack of follow through and discipline fade away quickly...

On this new year, let all of us ask ourselves, is it true for us as well and if yes, lets make a resolution that we will try to be more disciplined in nurturing our talents and live a more fulfilling life...

Wish everybody a fulfilling and successful 2012....
